Despre bac

diverse 14 iulie 2011

• Am terminat cursul IT Essentials, fiind de acum tehnician IT.
• Am schimbat puţin interfaţa site-ului www.mixXL.ro.

Excuse my writing in English, but since I cannot compose a sentence in Romanian without making it completely illegible, it'll have to do.

The results of this year's baccalaureate are indeed absolutely outrageous. 45% graduation rate is something that not even during my whole time traveling the world have I seen. Not even in the States, which everyone seems to point at as the "epicenter of stupidity" on Earth, have I seen such a rate of failure. Granted, they have lot of drop-outs over there too, but you ain't seeing over half of their nation fail a goddamned series of tests.

So what's wrong? You say that it's the students and that non-person "Funeriu" who's running the show is at fault. You are right, but not right enough.

There is only one word that describes who is at fault, and I'll tell you what word it is:

    EVERYONE.

The students of Romania are at the mercy of a nation of people who have the wrong jobs.. "to put it mildly". The people who run this country should run nothing more than a farm. They are absolutely unqualified to lead a country and much less to put it back on its toes after that sweet communist period that took Romanians even further back in time. And for some incredible reasons that elude me, Romanians still elect them and re-elect them. Nonsense.

Following this, you have the teachers and those "authors" that write those poor excuses of a "manual". What the hell is this? Teachers skipping class, teachers taking bribes, teachers not giving a damn about the students. Teachers not knowing the slightest bit of the stuff they teach. During my whole time in Romania up till now, that makes for two years and a half, out of the myriad of teachers I've had, only a select knew their stuff, incredible. Talking about careless teachers, why do you think that most Romanian schools look so bad, eh? Who gives a flying f*ck if their students play football in the class, or harass a student, or throw chalk at janitors!? Do you want to know what happens in a civilized country when that stuff happens? You get expelled. Good-bye baby, enjoy that job at McDonalds. What happened to the discipline department in Romania!? Most classes feel like a goddamn zoo, and you expect them to pass the BAC and lead the country? Jesus Christ.

Given that, and those poorly written marmalade manuals that only confuse the student instead of helping them. My father, who is a man of university, a math doctor... has trouble solving a physics problem from your mainstream books. This is illogical. If a doctor in math has trouble fixing a 10th grade physics problem, how is the student supposed to manage? Does this go hand in hand with the fact that some olympic students failed the BAC too? I think it does a long way.

I also have not yet seen someone who deeply understands a subject (Without being passionate about it, mind you.). All I see is mindless robots writing and re-writing information to pass, well if they have to do that, something is seriously wrong isn't it? Surely must be. I never ever saw someone doing that in Canada, where even there the system has some major faults.

Granted, you can say that students didn't pass because they are lazy, but really that's an invalid argument in all honesty. They're lazy because they do not understand, and when you don't understand something and you're forced to do it, well you won't. Unless you have a gun to your head, but that's NK stuff and I won't go into the details.

There you have it, referring back to my knowledge of Romanian, I never learned it. It's all by ear. 2 years into my stay in Romania, not one teacher has tried to help me out. (Please, a 5 and keep repeating is not helping.) If in two years all I heave learned in school is how to swear in romanian... well that's special... and it tells a lot about the quality of the schooling available in Romania.

    For the TL;DR people:

The system in Romania is shattered, in millions of bits. It's ineffective, and doesn't work anymore. Self-tuition or bust.

(Broken/Ineffective government + mindless populace + false education system) = (BAC failure + retarded generation) => Loss of human resources => I'll let you guess what comes next.

No more disorganized and hectic outings and fumbling around for things. Recently there has been an incredible amount of attention paid to links. At times we may even have to do the unthinkable-unpack our entire bag- in order to find what we need. pacs Be aware that very fresh manure is wet and heavy. In a place wherein you can take your mowing on with less anniversaries, league games, and journeys out of town, you could mow the lawn through what many people suggest as a one-third rule.
